About Us
Our
Story

Hi, I'm Leanne!
If you've ever come home from a brilliant walk with a soaking wet dog and wondered why drying them feels like such hard work... you're definitely not alone.
I live in beautiful Cornwall with my husband, Leigh, and our very energetic German Shorthaired Pointer, Darcy. We spend as much time as we can exploring beaches, woodland trails and the coast, and Darcy absolutely loves every opportunity to swim, splash and get muddy.
The only problem?
She has never enjoyed being dried.
In fact, drying Darcy used to be a two-person job. One of us would try to hold onto her while the other wrestled with a heavy bath towel that kept slipping to the floor. By the time we'd finished, Darcy was still wriggling, we were soaked, and the towel would be left hanging up, damp and smelling distinctly of wet dog.
Before starting Bark and Beau, I spent years working with horses, helping owners overcome behavioural challenges and phobias. That experience taught me to look beyond the problem itself and find practical, thoughtful solutions that make life easier for both animals and their owners.
So when drying Darcy became a daily battle, I couldn't help thinking there had to be a better way. And when I couldn't find a product readily available to help us, I found a manufacturer to make them.
That's what led me to discover a microfibre dog drying towel with built-in hand pockets. The pockets were a complete game changer because they let you keep hold of your dog while drying them at the same time. Suddenly, the whole process felt calmer, quicker and much less like a wrestling match.
When it came to creating Bark and Beau, I knew quality mattered just as much as clever design. That's why we chose a high-quality microfibre that absorbs moisture quickly, dries fast and traps less dog hair than ordinary bath towels, so it's much less likely to develop that lingering damp dog smell.
Every product we sell is something I genuinely use with Darcy. If it doesn't make life easier after muddy walks, beach days or bath time, it doesn't make it into our collection.
One of my favourite things has been hearing from customers who tell me our towels have transformed drying time with their own dogs. Knowing we've helped make life a little easier for fellow dog owners is exactly why Bark and Beau exists.
We can't make your dog enjoy bath time, but we can help take some of the chaos out of drying them afterwards.
Thank you for stopping by. I hope Bark and Beau helps you spend less time battling with soggy towels and more time enjoying adventures with your dog.
Leanne x
